While at Malahat SkyWalk, guests can connect with nature on the elevated TreeWalk through a Douglas Fir and Arbutus forest and be amazed by the impressive 10-storey Spiral Tower (250m above sea level). This architecturally stunning structure boasts panoramic views of the glimmering Salish Sea, majestic Coast Mountain range, and surrounding islands in both Canada and the US. For thrill-seekers, a walk along the adventure net and a 20m spiral slide down, caps off this authentic and one-of-a-kind Vancouver Island experience.
The Holiday Magic events run from December 2, 2022 - January 1, 2023 and includes the following:
Santa Appearances - Santa loves a Vancouver Island winter and has made time in his busy schedule to visit with Malahat SkyWalk guests. He may be seen wandering the TreeWalk or sitting by the fire in the Tower Plaza area. Make sure to take a photo with the big guy himself by the 20ft decorated Christmas tree, located just outside the Tower.
Catch a Glimpse of Luke, the Sasquatch Elf - A rare sighting may occur so keep a lookout for Luke, Malahat SkyWalk’s resident Sasquatch. He will be making a surprise appearance alongside Santa during the Holiday Magic festivities.
Santa’s Workshop - Get creative and busy, just like Santa’s elves with crafts, colouring, and more. Visit Santa’s Workshop every day from Dec. 3 to Jan 1.
The Clause Family Bakery - The holidays wouldn’t be complete without a special selection of festive treats. This year, The Clause Family Bakery will be serving up holiday-themed cookies, signature hot chocolates, and more. Warm up by the open fire pit with all your goodies and make sure to grab a s’mores kit from the bakery as well.
Sing-along with the Queen Margaret School Choir - Kicking off the Holiday Magic festivities on Dec. 3rd, the Queen Margaret School Choir will perform a selection of popular carols to celebrate the season, and welcome guests as they begin their journey through the decorated entry to the TreeWalk and Tower.
Holiday Magic Pop-Up Shop - Make your gift-giving extra special this year with an array of seasonal items, featuring local creations by west coast artisans. The Holiday Magic Pop-Up Shop is new to the Malahat SkyWalk and includes a collection of curated items such as, reclaimed wood and metal ornaments, toques, beaded necklaces, First Nations Christmas cards, gloves, beeswax candles, boxed chocolates, and so much more.
