Malahat SkyWalk Welcomes New General Manager
MALAHAT, BC (January 30, 2024) - Malahat SkyWalk, Vancouver Island’s award-winning and internationally renowned tourism experience, is pleased to announce the appointment of Nathan Bird to the role of General Manager. As a highly recognized industry leader, Nathan brings decades of tourism experience and a proven track record for success. In his new role, he will be responsible for the company’s overall strategic direction and the seamless operations of its day-to-day business. Nathan will also play a vital part in strengthening the company’s position as a leading BC attraction.

Prior to joining Malahat SkyWalk, Nathan was the General Manager of Victoria, BC-based Eagle Wing Tours. Under his leadership, the company was honoured with multiple travel industry awards for sustainable tourism. He has also held a variety of roles in guest services, sales, and senior management at premier Victoria hotel and resort properties, including the iconic Fairmont Empress. A well-rounded leader, he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience within BC’s tourism industry. Nathan’s passion for connecting people with nature, forward-thinking approach, and ongoing commitment to exceptional guest services will be instrumental in enhancing the Malahat SkyWalk experience and solidifying it as a must-see, must-do attraction on Vancouver Island.

Just a short 35-minute drive north of Victoria, Malahat SkyWalk is Vancouver Island’s newest premier year-round attraction and is accessible for all guests, providing a connection to nature like never before. The first of its kind in BC, the experience begins with an elevated TreeWalk (20 metres above ground), high amongst a mature Arbutus and Douglas Fir forest that leads to an impressive, 10-storey architecturally stunning Spiral Tower.
