Great Horned Owls are apex predators in their ecosystems, known for their deep hooting calls and silent flight during hunting.  These owls can rotate their heads up to 270 degrees, giving them an excellent vantage for spotting prey. They use their powerful talons to capture animals, which keeps the rodent population in check, which is crucial for protecting the forest's undergrowth and young tree seedlings.

Start facing the sign. Take a step or two to your right and look straight ahead through the foilage.
