A FOREST-TO-SKY VISIT — WITH ROOTS

Malahat, BC — March 2026 — This spring, Malahat SkyWalk is inviting guests to take their forest-to-sky adventure one step further by taking new growth home. Launching in late March and running through April, the Seed-to-Sky Planting Bar is a drop-in, self-guided Earth Month activation where visitors can plant a local starter in minutes, learn simple sustainability tips, and leave with something that keeps growing long after their visit.

Designed to be educational, fun, and family-friendly, the Seed-to-Sky Planting Bar offers three planting options for guests to choose from: a Native Pollinator Starter and two Edible Starters (herbs). In just two minutes, guests can pot their selection, label it, and access a QR-linked Care Hub featuring a Grow Guide and learning resources.

“Earth Month is a reminder that small actions add up—especially when they’re rooted in community,” said Shawna Beriner, Director of Operations at Malahat SkyWalk. “Seed-to-Sky is about celebrating new growth and helping guests feel connected to the place we’re all lucky to live in. When someone plants something local and takes it home, they’re supporting our ecosystem in a tangible way—and they’re also supporting the wider network of growers, partners, and community members who help Vancouver Island thrive.”

The Seed-to-Sky Planting Bar is included with admission while supplies last.

To coincide and celebrate the final weeks of Spring Break and Easter weekend, Malahat SkyWalk will also offer face painting and additional family-friendly pop-up activities—making Spring visits even more memorable for kids and parents alike.
