January Intentions & Coastal Forest Bathing
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Malahat SkyWalk Reimagines Winter Wellness with Self-Guided Coastal Forest Bathing
Malahat, BC — December 2025 — This coming January, Malahat SkyWalk invites guests to slow down and begin the year with intention through Coastal Forest Bathing, a self-guided wellness experience launched alongside Destination Greater Victoria’s annual Intentions Campaign.
Designed to be unhurried and personal, Coastal Forest Bathing is intentionally self-guided, allowing guests to move at their own pace while following gentle prompts and reflections throughout the journey. The experience offers a new way to engage with Malahat SkyWalk—one focused on presence, clarity, and restoration.
Guests begin at the Welcome Centre with a complimentary hot beverage and receive a Coastal Forest Bathing Guide—a simple companion for the walk, filled with mindful cues that support a self-guided sensory immersion through the coastal forest. As guests travel the elevated TreeWalk and ascend the Spiral Tower, they’re encouraged to pause, breathe, and set intentions “from the sky,” surrounded by panoramic views high above the Salish Sea. The experience continues along Luke’s Lane through the forest and Affirmation Trail, where thoughtful messages invite guests to slow down, reconnect, and carry a renewed sense of calm and gratitude forward.
Select sessions during the month will be guided by Candice McBryde, a breathwork facilitator, intuitive coach, and yoga instructor. Candice will lead guests through a grounding journey that weaves breath, awareness, and gentle movement into the forest experience, creating space for a spiritual and mental reset. The guided experience is designed to be a renewal that is accessible, restorative, and welcoming to guests of all backgrounds and abilities.
“January often comes with an unspoken pressure to reset,” says Preet Brar, Senior Director of Retail, Sales, and Marketing, at Malahat SkyWalk. “Coastal Forest Bathing offers an alternative—an opportunity to slow down, reconnect, and begin the year with clarity and intention.”
Coastal Forest Bathing is a 90-minute, self-guided experience available from January 1-31, 2026, with additional dates to be added throughout the year. The route follows Malahat SkyWalk’s accessible pathways, designed to welcome a wide range of ages and abilities and encourage guests to engage in the experience comfortably, at their own pace. This new experience aligns with Destination Greater Victoria’s Intentions Campaign, which encourages both locals and visitors to approach winter travel and wellbeing with purpose, reflection, and balance.
