The project is a partnership between the Malahat Nation and A.Spire By Nature, a nature-based tourism company with over 30 years of experience in the development of highly successful sites around the world.
The Malahat Nation represents approximately 340 members with two reserve lands located on the western shore of Saanich Inlet, south of the village of Mill Bay, about 40 kilometres north of Victoria. They are actively engaged in the modern treaty process to acquire traditional lands.
A.Spire By Nature
A.Spire by Nature is a BC based company that specializes in creating accessible, self-guided nature-based experiences in iconic locations. The team at A.Spire by Nature has over 30 years of experience overseeing the complete life cycle of countless world-class, large-scale projects.
David Greenfield and Trevor Dunn, the Principals of A.Spire by Nature, are also two of the founding partners in the Sea to Sky Gondola, one of Canada’s most acclaimed and successful new tourism attractions.
The proposed Malahat Skywalk project team is meeting with south-island communities and special interest groups to discuss how this project can contribute positively to their vision for growth and help to diversify the economy. Although the project team has a strong vision for this proposed project, we are committed to an open, collaborative process.
The following are the ways we will be seeking community involvement:
- Community and special interest group meetings
- Tourism organization meetings
- Website feedback
- Public information sessions for the regulatory process.
These activities and events will give us a chance to present our plans and timelines for the Malahat Skywalk, as well as invite public input and questions.
We look forward to speaking with you about this exciting project.
